Very evenly contested game between two sides full of energy and attacking intentions with openings at both ends, the first came our way when Lewis Russell was set free by Ben Prings long ball but dragged his shot just wide.
USP came back with chances of their own and only 3 excellent Sam Thomson saves kept the game goalless, we lost Zach Costello early on with an injury which saw a reshuffle across the back with the outstanding Tom Harvey, Craig Gingell and Robbie Tripp joined by Ajay Arithoppah and though hard pushed they saw us in at halftime all square.
2nd half was much the same with fast attacking positive football from both sides but two very assured defences kept the chances to a minimum though an outstanding 25yd effort from Philip Baker deserved more than thumping the crossbar with the USP keeper well beaten.
We then lost Harry Myles to injury but his replacement Jon Bazley was soon into the thick of things and it was his prompting on 83 minutes that saw Baker thread a pass into the 3rd substitute Adam Shipman whose superb cross was finished by Ben Pring for the games only goal and gave us a trip to local rivals Devizes Town in the next round.
Has to be said our visitors were as sporting and good a side as we have faced this season and we wish them all the best for the remainder of their season.
Thanks to 3 very good officials for there afternoons work and a massive well done to everyone connected to Corsham Town for today's great efforts on and off the pitch .
