3 points away from home but not quite sure how.
Started ok taking the lead on 5 minutes when a long Callum Elms free kick found Zach Costello ghosting in unmarked to score his first Corsham goal to put us ahead, never really kicked on and we spent the next 30 minutes on the back foot with our goal leading a charmed life and goalkeeper Chris Snoddy on more than one occasion saving the day.
UWE got the equaliser there play deserved on 35 minutes when a loose ball was turned in and just on halftime they were awarded a penalty but to the home supports frustration it came back of a post and was somehow scrambled clear to send us in all square.
Came out 2nd half with all intent to take game to the UWE but that went out the window within 4 minutes when a defensive mix up presented the home centre forward with an open goal which he was never going to miss.
In fairness we got back into it very quickly when Matthew Legg was fouled just outside the box and Elms curled home a superb free kick from 20 yards, couple of changes them made with Jaiden Savery and Aaron Masson both coming on for the injured Lewis Russell and the strangely out of sorts Tom Harvey and it was 19 year old Masson who with 4 minutes left slotted home right footed from 15 yards and deep into injury time Dan Heavey put the result beyond doubt when he calmly rounded the keeper to slot home.
Somewhat fortunate 3 points but as we all know football can be a cruel game and it was certainly that on Almondsbury today.
Decent refereeing performance also and well done everyone but we will definitely have to improve on Wednesday at Oldlands if we want to continue our unbeaten run .
