Started like a house on fire down the slope with Harry Myles, Lewis Russell , Ben Pring and Callum Elms all prominent in every good thing we did and it was no surprise when we went ahead when the energetic Dan Heavey chasing a seemingly lost cause created panic in the home defence which resulted in him tapping into an unguarded net.
Didn't let up and only outstanding goalkeeping kept Russell and Pring from adding to the score but as we all know if you don't take opportunities the other side will and after 25 minutes we conceded a penalty which was converted to bring the score level.
Undeterred we kept on the attack and soon went back in front when the excellent Pring finished calmly after charging down a clearance and just on half time both Heavey and Pring again were denied by the superb home keeper.
A very different Backwell emerged 2nd half full of aggression and forced us on to the back foot and it wasn't long before they equalised and but from some very determined defending from Adam Shipman Tom Harvey and Captain Ajay Arithoppah things could have got a lot worse, not to say we didn't have chances with Russell firing just over and in the last seconds the same player again going close after good work by Billy Cookson and Elms set him free.
Honours even at the end of a very good competitive game in which we saw some excellent performances and it's on to Saturday when we entertain Radstock Town at the Southbank.
