Defences on top in this topsy turvy game deservedly won in the end by a well organised Sutton outfit.
The visitors dominated the early exchanges and probably deserved to be 2 goals to the good but found themselves behind on 25 minutes when a defensive mistake let the hard working Adam Shipman find Harry Myles whose clever cross found Josh Bright who finished confidently past former Corsham keeper Chris Manns, once again didn't push on and Sutton soon found a way back in when a free header from 6 yards found its way into the corner of our net and this was quickly followed by a second after we failed on at least 3 occasions to clear are lines and a smart finish sent us in 2-1 down at halftime.
Came out in a positive mood and within 5 minutes had got back on level terms after a superb Bright cross found Robbie Tripp whose header came off the post to Shipman whose pass was smashed in by Jon Bazley to get us level and within 3 minutes we were ahead when the unmarked Shipman tapped in at the far post to put us 3-2 ahead.
Again Sutton didn't pack it in and came back at us and within 5 minutes had won a penalty for handball after another defensive horror show though the kick was superbly save by Sam Thomson, thoughts it might just be our day were quickly extinguished when the visiting right back thumped home the goal of the game from all of 30 yards to level things up and a minute later things went from bad to worse when the ball fell kindly to the Sutton centre forward inside the box and he finished calmly to give Sutton a deserved 3 points.
Certainly had better days at the office but that's football I suppose, well done to the 3 officials today especially the kite flying Gary Stonham ( great entertainment mate ) and a very sporting Bishop Sutton team who deserved everything they got today.
