If ever a game proves the old adage goals win matches then this was it.
Dominated possession for pretty much the whole game but instead of going in at halftime with at least a 3 goal lead that our dominance deserved the 0-0 score line gave our hosts the belief that if we didn't finish things off they would and with pretty much their first threat of the second half a poorly defended short corner was punished with a neat header and just a couple of minutes later 1 became 2 with another smart finish from another sharp counter attack.
Got back into it with a smart Ben Pring goal but once again showed are defensive inadequacy when the very young but extremely talented home number 10 was allowed to run half the length of the pitch before providing a smart pass that got the rewards it deserved with Oldlands 3rd goal of the night.
Probably didn't deserve to lose on the night in what was one of our better footballing performances of the season but a lesson in taking chances was there for all to see.
Decent refereeing performance and can't lay any blame at the 3 officials, well done to Oldlands and we move on to Saturday when we entertain a very strong Hengrove Athletic team for what will surely be another very strong test.
