a game less Saturday last weekend we were entertaining Beaversbrook and with a
very strong team on paper hoping to get all three points, the away game was
probably one of our best displays of the season and we ran out 3 1 winners.
decided that with the personal we had available we would play three players up
front and three in mid field, well for the first 2 or 3 minutes from they kick
off Beaversbrook didn't touch the ball, then with two players touching the ball
and along ball through our defence we were a goal down.
In all the times I have
been with the Ressies I have never seen us keep, the ball so much, very
occasionally the opposition managed to get the ball for a few touches before we
won it back, in the end it goes with out saying we managed to score, Leggy
putting pressure on their full back before Glen crossed in for Brighty to
our bench we all thought here we go now, the second half was the same with just
continual possession and pressure but we were unable to find the back of the
net, there was some very desperate defending from the opposition even resulting
to kick several of the match balls out of the ground, but alas and fair play to
them they managed to get into our half and "Nick" the winner near the
end of the game, and no matter how much we had the ball there was no way we
From the side we were so pleased with the way the team played how
positive we were great attitude, and how much we had the ball, of course the
negative is we lost, no game this Saturday, but a trip over to Melksham next
Wednesday to look forward to....
