Match Report

This entertaining encounter went the way of Corsham after an early lead was canceled out but their better finishing brought them the points late on.

Corsham took the lead in the 15th minute when Leigh Rogers played the ball through to Billy Cookson who took it to the goal-line area and passed it to new signing Callum Demkiv in the 6yard box. He turned his defender and shot low into the net.

Corsham were playing good attacking football all over the park. Jon Bazley put Cookson through and his shot was saved but no-one was on hand for the rebound. Again a through ball from Bazley found Demkiv but he was just too high with his effort this time.

Corsham were then pegged back in the 35th minute when a penalty was awarded to the home side. Just before the break, too much space was left by Corsham down the left side which left the hosts room to score their second.

After half-time play was tightly contested as Corsham sought a way back. Demkiv shot into the side-netting and the leveler came in the 63rd minute following a corner taken by Rogers. Robbie Tripp's header was blocked but the ball came to Gary McDermott whose shot went into the roof of the net.

In 83rd minute Devkin found a top class finish across to the far side of the net following a quality through ball from Bazley.  The scoring was finished off in stoppage time when sub Aaron Masson collected the ball on the half-way line and ran on, then squared it for Rogers to finish.

A fine performance all-round but my special mention today goes to Jon Bazley, Leigh Rogers and new signing Callum Demkiv.
