Corsham Town 1 - 2 Roman Glass St George

Home | 02 December 2017 | Attendance: 120

Corsham's young and improving side started confidently against the league leaders and in form team. Corsham's Tony Mcelhone should have given Corsham the lead when one on one with the keeper but fired wide. Another Corsham attack saw Ben Wickens fail to beat the advancing keeper. Roman Glass were not playing as well as many expected and was evident by the expletives coming from their dugout, no score at halftime was a relief for them.

In the 47th minute, Corsham deservedly took the lead when McElhone crossed for Robbie Tripp to head in at the far post.

Roman Glass responded immediately when Ryan Radford took advantage of a mix up in the Corsham defence to equalise.

On the hour a bad tackle by a Roman Glass player resulted in a melee leading to a player from each side being sent off. The away team were gradually coming more into the game and were awarded a free kick twenty-five yards out. The resultant strike by substitute Jordon Yeowas, deflected off a Corsham defender and looped over the stranded keeper in the 88th minute.

Corsham threw players forward but their late attacks were thwarted and failed to gain a point where many thought they deserved all three.
