Match Report

Competitive game played in the right manner by two sides still finding their feet this season.

We never really got going first half and most of the attacking intent came from a very lively UWE front 3 that kept our back four superbly marshalled by skipper Zach Costello honest all night, not to say we didn't have chances and Ben Pring headed just over and a Lewis Russell half volley that flew narrowly wide were a warning to UWE that we weren't just there to make up the numbers.

10 minutes from half time superb work down the right from Tom Harvey and Philip Baker ended with the latter sending in a superb cross that was expertly finished at the near post by centre forward Luke Murden to send us in 1 up.

2nd half was more of the same with openings at both ends but gradually the away team started to exert more pressure on an already overworked back four and after our post and crossbar were rattled on 3 occasions it came as no surprise when a superb strike from 18 yards out flew into our net for a more than deserved equaliser 10 minutes from the end.

Has to be said fair result in the end and well done to the 3 officials who went about things all night in a very professional manner and we go again on Sunday when we entertain the United Services Portsmouth in the FA. Vase ko 2pm ....
